I'm Anne. Also Annie, either one. I'm a mom of 3, spouse to G, writer of things, former batgirl (see photo), lucky friend, and enthusiast of ideas, books, design, parenting, art, movies, innovation, and a good laugh. My wildest dream is to write novels. I can attest that they are harder to write than I ever imagined. Thank you, writers and novelists I have taken for granted all these years!
I'm a development enthusiast. I have an MA and PhD in Child Study and Human Development from Tufts University. I've worked as Director of Research & Development for an education non-profit, served as curriculum developer for a parenting education company, taught human development courses at universities, and helped conduct child development research ranging from teen parents to early brain development.
Not long ago, we pulled up our Boston roots and headed to the other side of the world for a new adventure with G's job. We're loving life here in Oz, complete with timtam slams, kangaroos across the street, and the famous g'day, no worries, and she'll be 'right attitude of life Down Under.
This is where I write about life, parenting & family relationships, travel, religion, design, music, books, and ideas with some photos and silliness thrown into the mix. I've been blogging since 2005.
You can also find me at Segullah, where I've posted essays with a religious flavor.

I am also co-founder of Nest & Launch, a website dedicated to mid-stage parenting and enjoying life with big kids, pre-teens and teens.
Come visit me (and my long-distance friend Sarah) there as we try to navigate mid-stage parenting with whatever panache, humor, and good sense we can muster--through essays, parenting info, recipes, ideas for activities, gatherings, and projects.
